Desertification and Drought Day celebrations at Ol Kinyei Grounds in Laikipia County

Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya presided over this year's World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought (WDDD) national celebrations, which took place on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Ol Kinyei Grounds, Maiyanat Community Conservancy in Doldol, Nanyuki, Laikipia County. The event commenced at 9:00 AM and brought together a diverse group of leaders and environmental advocates.

Among the notable attendees were Governor of Laikipia County, H.E. Joshua Irungu, PS at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Eng. Festus Ngeno, Charlene Ruto, Chairman of NEMA Kenya Emilio Mugo, Director General Mamo B. Mamo, EBS, and MP Laikipia North Sara Paulata Korere, alongside other dignitaries.
