Wetland Conservation and restoration exercise at Kerarapon at Gitwe Springs, Kajiado County
@NemaKenya team, led by Chairman, Emilio Mugo and Director General Mamo B. Mamo EBS joined environmental stakeholders for a tree planting and Wetland Conservation and restoration exercise at Kerarapon at Gitwe Springs, Kajiado County. NEMA Kenya in conjunction with and other stakeholders successfully planted 2000 trees. Chairman, Emilio Mugo, emphasized on the collaboration of all stakeholders, in order to come up with plans that will help in the restoration and protection of wetlands.
Mr.John Elungata, who represented Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, called on all Kenyans to purpose to plant 30 trees annually for the realization of the Government’s plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032. NEMA is overseeing the National Landscapes and Ecosystem Restoration Campaign towards the 15B Tree Growing initiative which will be rolled out in all the 47 Counties.
