National Sustainable Waste Management Policy-publication

This Policy aims to create an enabling regulatory environment for Kenya to effectively tackle the waste challenge by implementing sustainable, waste management that prioritizes waste minimization and contributes to a circular economy. Practically, this can be achieved through the adoption of a waste hierarchy that includes reducing or preventing waste generation at the source and reuse of materials; effective and affordable waste collection in all neighborhoods, where waste is to be separated at source ensuring that recyclable materials are not contaminated by or mixed with waste.
