Kenya’s Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs)

State, Pressure and Response Summary
Kenya’s Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs), previously known as Important Bird Areas (IBAs), have been assessed against globally agreed criteria to measure STATE, PRESSURE, and RESPONSE since 2004. The STATE score measures the condition of KBA trigger species (those species for which sites are selected) and their habitats; the PRESSURE score
measures the threat facing the site; and the RESPONSE score measures the actions being taken to conserve the sites.
