Introduction

we have been working towards aligning Kenya’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF) adopted at the Convention of Biological Diversity(CBD) 15th Conference of Parties (COP 15) held in Montreal Canada in December 2022.

The technical team, in three thematic working groups and further subgroups, began the process of drafting the national targets that are aligned with the 23 global targets with consideration of national circumstances and capabilities.

Objectives of the Workshop

1. Finalize the NBSAP 2020 – 2030 National Targets

2. Review the Rapid Baseline Data Collection Inception Report

3. Review and finalize the Early Action Support Consultancies TORS

4. Review the UNEA 6 Biodiversity related resolutions and input into the positions

6. Review the National Biodiversity Coordination Mechanism
