Nairobi County marked the Long Rains 2023/2024 tree planting initiative by establishing 1,010 diverse native trees in Korogocho, Ruaraka Sub County, along the Nairobi River. As part of a comprehensive government & community effort to achieve the 15 billion tree planting program.
PS Teresia Mbaita from the Ministry of Devolution and presiding judges such as Honorable Judith Omollo and Honorable Justice D. Mwangi. Representatives from the Nairobi Rivers Commission and local environmental community-based organizations along the river also participated.
